PHLEBOLOGY, LYMPHOLOGY &
RUHR AREA IN TRANSITION
September 06 – 09, 2023
Mercatorhalle in the City Palais,
Duisburg
Dear Colleagues,
from 6th to 9th September 2023 the 65th annual conference of the German Society for Phlebology and Lymphology (DGPL) will take place in the Mercatorhalle in Duisburg. We have taken over the scientific management and cordially invite you to Duisburg.
This year we are acting for the first time as the German Society for Phlebology and Lymphology and are pleased to be able to focus even more on lymphological topics and to be able to offer this area more attention and a wider audience. The interprofessionalism is reflected here in meetings and workshops together with the lymphologists and physiotherapists, as well as in the nursing conference with nursing staff and medical assistants.
The motto: “Phlebology, lymphology and the Ruhr area in transition” shows the basic situation wonderfully reflected in our specialty – the research and development of causes, diagnostics and therapy options are constantly changing. This further development trains us as doctors, as well as therapists and nursing staff.
We have to constantly rethink and become aware of new possibilities in order to be able to achieve new goals and expectations. This is not possible without innovative thinking and acting actors who are ready for change.
We wish to continue to ensure the highest modern standard in diagnostics, therapy as well as preventive and aftercare in the interaction of the professional groups and disciplines in phlebology and lymphology.
The annual conference of the DGPL lives from the interdisciplinary exchange, which is guaranteed by the participation of other scientific societies.
The conference of the DGPL will take place locally in the Mercatorhalle, in the heart of Duisburg. The conference rooms are very close together so we can communicate easily and intensively.
In terms of content, the program will cover a wide range, as usual.
In terms of content, the program will cover a wide range, as usual. Classic phlebological topics such as compression therapy, sclerotherapy treatment and endovenous or surgical procedures have their place, as well as answers to questions about thrombosis, thromboembolism, lymphatic/lipoedema and diseases that phlebologists and lymphologists should keep in mind when making differential diagnoses. In addition, a curricular advanced training for lymphologists, organized in cooperation with the Medical Association of Westphalia-Lippe, is integrated.
Innovations in phlebology and lymphology in recent decades are based not least on the achievements of industry. Without your development work, your commitment and your personal and entrepreneurial passion, further development and constant change in phlebology would be unthinkable. We look forward to an intensive exchange in the foyer of the Philharmonie where the exhibition will take place!
We look forward to welcoming many of you to Duisburg – for the first time as a DGPL.
Best regards
